Shahbaz for extending Danish
Schools to South Punjab

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the purpose of setting up of Danish Schools is provision of quality educational facilities to the students of backward and far flung areas of the province at par with the developed areas so that they should feel that they have as much right our national resources as the children of the elite classes. 
He was talking to members of national and provincial assemblies belonging to various districts at Chief Minister’s Secretariat, here on Thursday. MNA Mudassar Qayyum Nahra, MPAs Muhammad Arqam Khan, Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani, Raza Nasrullah Ghumman, Sardar Muhammad Hussain Dogar and Yaqub Nadeem Sethi were present in the meeting.
Shahbaz Sharif said the project of Danish Schools would be initiated from Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahimyar Khan and Bahawalpur, while centres of excellence would also be completed in these areas on priority basis.
The parliamentarians apprised the CM of development projects and problems of their respective areas. Shahbaz Sharif said the elimination of illiteracy and ignorance was essential for the development and prosperity. “The government is taking revolutionary measures for the uplift of education sector and an effective strategy has been adopted for this purpose throughout the province. The Danish Schools will result in the availability of high standard educational facilities to the children of lakhs of poor families of backward areas and it will be a great service to the people,” he said, while adding that the students of backward and remote areas were as intelligent and talented as any other area, which could be judged from the fact that eight out of 20 students who had been sent on a study tour to Germany belong to Southern Punjab. “The government is evolving a comprehensive programme for the training of teachers on modern lines in the interest of young generation. Measures are also being taken for infrastructure development and a number of development projects are being executed expeditiously,” he added. 
He stressed upon elected representatives to maintain a close contact with the people and ensure early solution of their problems as well as timely completion of development scheme.
